About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Policy and Advocacy to lead its efforts in engaging with government entities and other public institutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction to advance the organization's work, with a focus on strengthening its reputation, technical brand, and policy influence. This role involves leading a team that supports government relations, public policy, and advocacy mobilization, both internationally and domestically. The VP will be expected to keep the organization's mission central, act as a key advocate with government leaders, and build strong relationships with Members of Congress, Senate, and the executive branch. Additionally, the role includes overseeing the development of policy documents, ensuring thought leadership, and integrating advocacy strategies with regional and sectoral teams to support program impact and resource acquisition. Applicants for the Vice President, Policy and Advocacy position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree preferred, and a minimum of 10-15 years' experience in policy development and advocacy. The role requires a strategic visionary leader with a proven track record in supporting advocacy and external engagement, influencing and persuasion skills, and the ability to build and guide high-performing teams. Experience in the international relief and development sector is preferred, and the candidate must have at least 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role. The VP will be expected to maintain a deep knowledge of team development, foster collaboration, and drive organizational outcomes. The position demands a concise communicator who can adapt messaging for diverse audiences and is adept at mobilizing stakeholders to take action.
