Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - CharterCare Prospect CharterCARE Our Lady of Fatima, LLC 7500-Laboratory - Clinical Full Time regular (64-80 hrs) Hours/Pay Period: 80 3 9:00 pm - 7:00 am ~SIGN ON BONUS UP TO $18,000~ Apply today! Summary: Under the direction of the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological tests to obtain data used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Education: In addition to the skills normally obtained through completion of a High School education, an Associate’s degree in Applied Science/Medical Laboratory Technology. ASCP Certification eligibility required. Experience: Internship preferred. One year of relevant clinical laboratory experience preferred. Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates the cognitive abilities necessary to master relevant content in clinical laboratory manuals. Comprehend, analyze, integrate, and synthesize clinical information or data as it relates to laboratory tests and procedures. Utilize reasoning and decision-making skills appropriate to the practice of clinical laboratory science. Ability to operate laboratory equipment (i.e., pipettes, test tubes, inoculating loops) and adjust instruments to perform laboratory procedures. Ability to use an electronic keyboard to operate laboratory instruments and to calculate, record, evaluate, and transmit laboratory information. Skills in organization and priority setting. Ability to work cooperatively with peers and other disciplines. Utilize sound interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, considering cultural background, linguistic skills, and age of customers. Maintain information confidentiality (HIPAA). Demonstrated customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers and other interdisciplinary teams. Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements: Ability to move freely and safely about the clinical laboratory. Perform moderately taxing continuous physical work, often requiring prolonged sitting or standing over several hours. Visual acuity and hand dexterity are required. Physical ability involves a variety of body movements including stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, standing, walking, twisting, stretching, and reaching.
