Finance Manager

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
The Finance Manager is a key member of Concentric’s finance team responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, cash flow tracking, and financial reporting. This role ensures the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of all financial systems while supporting strategic decision-making and enabling the organization’s continued growth.
Working closely with the CFO and external finance partners, the Finance Manager is accountable for managing invoicing, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, month-end close, and financial controls. This role also supports budgeting, fundraising, and internal reporting for both the executive team and investors. The ideal candidate combines precision in execution with a strong understanding of nonprofit or education-related financial operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations & ReportingManage invoicing processes and oversee accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate collections.
Post cash transactions, reconcile bank accounts, and perform routine balance sheet reconciliations.
Coordinate the monthly close process and ensure timely preparation of financial statements.
Prepare weekly budget-to-actual and cash flow reports to support cash management and forecasting.
Maintain strong internal controls, accounting procedures, and documentation standards.
Oversee payroll processing in collaboration with Concentric’s PEO and Operations teams.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, particularly for a disaggregated, hourly workforce.
Maintain payroll systems, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Manage accounts payable (AP) and ensure proper expense tracking aligned with organizational budgets.
Monitor vendor payments, subscriptions, and reimbursements to maintain budget compliance.
Support cross-functional teams with real-time financial information and budget insights.
Assist the CFO and external finance team in developing and implementing financial strategies.
Support organizational fundraising and investor relations by providing clear, accurate reporting and financial documentation.
Manage accounting software and systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across platforms.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping to support audits, grant reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Participate in special initiatives related to organizational growth, new programs, or funding requirements.
Track and report on financial performance metrics and KPIs that inform strategic planning.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred)
3–5 years of experience in accounting or financial management
Proficiency with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and across remote/hybrid teams
Experience in nonprofit, education, or mission-driven environments
Familiarity with K-12 procurement practices and public funding flows
Experience supporting remote or hybrid organizations
Understanding of PEO coordination and multi-state payroll compliance
Knowledge of grant reporting, fund accounting, or investor relations
Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and a commitment to accuracy
