Location: Syracuse, NY | Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Direct hire opening for a Boiler Operator. In this role, you are responsible for operating and maintaining steam boilers, air compressors, and complex electrical and mechanical systems facility located in Syracuse, NY.

Essential Functions

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on steam boilers, air compressors, pumps, motors, and high-pressure piping systems.
• Conduct chemical testing to maintain proper boiler performance.
• Diagnose and repair issues by disassembling and reassembling complex units.
• Use hand tools, pipe fitting machinery, torches, and soldering equipment for maintenance and installation.
• Install and service steam lines, valves, traps, strainers, and related powerhouse components.
• Troubleshoot both analog and digital control systems.
• Interpret mechanical, electrical, and plumbing diagrams and schematics.
• Manage boiler operations and schedule data using an energy management system.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with steam boilers, air compressors, electrical equipment, pumps, motors, power generating equipment , and pressurized piping systems (water, steam, oil, compressed air, natural gas).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.

Preferred Background and Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a powerhouse technician.
• Background in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
