Job Title: Boiler Operator

Job Description

As a Boiler Operator, you will play a crucial role in promoting, following, and enforcing safety regulations. You will be responsible for monitoring the boiler and DA tank, ensuring their safe operation, and maintaining the cleanliness of the boiler room. Your duties will include operating the ventilation systems and completing necessary reports. This position requires effective communication of organizational and policy changes, as well as attendance at company-scheduled meetings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operation of the boiler and DA tank.
• Promote and enforce all safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and operate ventilation systems in the boiler room.
• Complete and issue necessary reports.
• Effectively communicate organizational and policy changes.
• Attend company-scheduled meetings.
• Inform supervision of any problems or complications.

Essential Skills

• Valid stationary engineers license regulated by the NYC Department of Buildings.
• Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
• Effective presentation skills to respond to questions from managers.
• Commitment to company goals and employee safety.
• Effective communication skills – verbal, written, and electronic.
• Understanding of production and plant processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Willingness to work overtime if necessary.

Work Environment

The role involves monitoring a single boiler with specifications of 6 million BTU and 100 psi. You will be working in facilities maintenance with an open environment for shift flexibility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooklyn, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
